Special Education
Special education department provides the individual systematically planned instructions and evaluate to help children with special needs to achieve the greatest possible personal self – modicum for success in present and future healthy situations.
Special education is designed to ensure that students with disabilities are provided with an environment that allows them to be educated effectively and perform efficiently.
Department of Special Education is offering 2 years of Diploma in Special Education Course with specialization in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities from 2023.

Department is providing the following services for the betterment of PwDs:–
- Identification of children with special needs.
- Screening and assessment
- Curriculum design
- Teaching basic skills (ADL, Social, Cognitive, Motor and functional academic, emotional, pre-vocational skill etc.)
- Coordination and establishment of rapport with Teachers, Parents and Students.
- Teaching learning material and assistive devices.
- Classroom management
- Behaviour modification
- Guidance and Counselling for parents and children
- Individual teaching
- Group teaching
- IEP
- Vocational training
- Connecting the school for main-streaming of children with special needs.
- Readiness of school
- Convergence of other department (Health, ICDS, Social welfare, district, Empowerment of persons with disabilities department, Government of Jharkhand, etc.)
